Celia Cruz was born in Havana, Cuba on October 21, 1925. Later on as she grow up she was getting a lot of attenion as a singer. Celia was raised in a poor Havana neigborhood of Satos Suarez. Celia's singing career started to rise. When Celia was in college her Professor told her that she should drop out and continue singing and she did but later on she went back to collage but was still performing. Celia Cruz then died in New Jersey on July 16, 2003 at the age 77. On September 17, 1987 Cruz was honored a star on the Hollywood Walk that is still there today. by JANIYA DANIEL
